Santogold: Indie, rock, punk, new wave, rap blended together for a result so catchy because of thinness. The disc is sometimes very pleasant, well-made pieces, catchy melodies and a major appeal of the girl.
But there is something that does not convince me. It is not only the continued reference to other artists and genres (among the first Siouxsie, Pixies, MIA), but the general feeling of coldness and smallness of the disc as a whole.
A little new wave, pop a small choir, a touch of style too calculated for MIA .. earn. Too much homework, well done, by crossover. Too little passion. Too little time to insist on listening to the album.
